Nasim for filling up SAARC vacant seats in medical colleges by other countries
DHAKA : The vacant seats in medical colleges earmarked for students of SAARC member countries would be filled up by students of other countries.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at the Health Ministry with Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim in the chair.
The minister urged the private medical college authorities to comply with the code of conduct in running operations of colleges. “Government does not expect that any college would be closed down”, he added.
He also sounded a note of warning that operations of the colleges which would not be able to abide by the prescribed rules and regulations would be closed down.
Health Secretary Mohammad Sirazul Islam, Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad and senior officials of health and foreign ministries were present at the meeting, among others.
