Muhith urges CA professionals to contribute in development
DHAKA : Finance Minister AMA Muhith has urged the Chartered Accountants to play a role in ensuring proper utilization of the country’s limited resources for achieving the targets of Vision 2021 and Vision 2041.
“We will have to ensure proper use of our limited resources. CA professionals can play vital role in this regard,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at the SAFA’s award giving ceremony at Sonargaon Hotel here last night.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir was present as the special guest. ICAB President Adeeb Hossain Khan delivered welcome speech.
Maintaining financial transparency in utilizing the country’s limited resources is important for the development, Muhith said Bangladesh has achieved remarkable success in different sectors in the last seven years.
South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) distributed best presented annual report (BPA) awards 2015 and SAARC Anniversary Awards for Corporate Governance Disclosure among the listed and non listed entities in SAARC countries in 13 different categories, including banks, non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs), insurance companies, manufacturing, financial service, ICT and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
A total of 46 entities won the awards. In addition 41 organizations and entities won the certificates of merit.
SAFA President ASM Nayem FCA was also present on the occasion.
